Ficker Cup: FMJ Racing Unbeaten on Day One

Full Metal Jacket racing end the first day of racing at the Ficker Cup with 5 wins and 0 loses with 2 more races of the round robin left. The only other unbeaten team is world number 21 Simone Ferrerese from Italy. On Friday we will finish the last two races of the round robin and race the quarter finals.

Today, Thursday, Long Beach provided very light winds in the morning that slowly built to about 8-10 knots in the afternoon. Racing is held just off Belmont pier making the racing very accessible for the spectators. The winner of the Ficker Cup gains entry to the very prestigious Congressional Cup. So the team is pleased with the solid start but knows we have two big races tomorrow morning to start the day and decide our quarter final opponent.
