VOR: ERICSSON 4 LEG SIX DAY 14 QFB: received 24.04.09 1646 GMT

by Brad Jackson (watch captain)

Two days to go and we are banging away upwind in the Gulf Stream. After an uncomfortable night and not much sleep, today is starting to settle down and we can get back into a more normal routine.

Apart from not being able to eat freeze dried and drink water as we are still on water rations, I thought we were getting one meal a day but haven't seen it yet so maybe later.

Looks like we should get to Boston on Sunday morning which means a fairly full court press from now to the end. We have Ericsson 3 and Telefónica Blue nipping at our heels so no room for us to make mistakes. As we have seen during this race it doesn't take much for another boat to pounce on other boat’s misfortunes or errors and there are big gains and losses to be had as the boats are so fast I have just found my toothbrush in the bilge so looks like that will have to wait until Boston also.

Looking forward to Boston and some hot wings and shrimp.
